Service Description

Sharing perinatal experiences, and sometimes even EDDs, with another person in your circle can initially provoke feelings of shock, anger, or even slight embarrassment; these feelings are completely valid & understandable. However, sharing the incomparable adventure of growing life from within with a confidant can also be an exciting, inspirational time for you to bond and support each other as your families navigate the early chapters of your infants' arrivals. To help prepare your families for the physical and mental changes that accompany the tedious hormonal shifts and bodily transformations related to conception, pregnancy, birth, and immediate postpartum, I offer an informative, evidence-based support plan, respectfully referred to as the 'TOL Mental Toolkit®'. During our 2-hour session, I will provide & discuss topics of the 'Toolkit' to include, but not limited to: formation of a human zygote, coping with pregnancy-related body dysmorphia, pregnancy & birth-related anatomy & physiology, the important role of hormones, body/supplemental feeding options, expecting the unexpected, maternity necessities, baby registries & nursery planning, and preparation of your birth plans & birth bags. To ensure that the provided 2-hr block is utilized to its full potential, it is highly suggested that clients secure childcare prior to their session(s), so that their full attention may be committed towards taking notes, asking questions, & observing visual demonstrations regarding topics, to possibly include: perinatal comfort measures, the mechanics of contractions, fetal descent, laboring positions & nonpharmalogical pain management, birth presentation, delayed cord clamping, medicated labor, baby wearing, modern disposable & cloth diapering, ‘The Hold’, efficient burping, alternative & supplemental feedings, and many more! To guarantee all topics of interest are disclosed and thoroughly analyzed before birthing times roll around, it is highly suggested that clients book a minimum of 3 sessions before heading into their third trimesters. Additional on-call support via text/email is $250 per client. Disclaimer: Doulas are NOT medically trained professionals; I will not be held responsible for providing medical-based advice or partaking in medical observation. My model of care is based solely on holistic, informative, & preventative-based support. Failure to comply will result in the termination of services, as well as the withholding of service funds.

Cancellation Policy

To cancel or reschedule an appointment, please contact me directly at least 24 hours in advance. Same-day cancellations & no-shows are non-refundable and will result in the client being 'flagged' with a warning. To maintain my personable, tight-knit community, I will deny bookings with clients who have received 2 consecutive flags. I recognize that medical emergencies do happen, and will offer a grace period of 48 hours to reschedule any same-day cancellations. If contact for rescheduling has not been initiated within the 48 hour grace-period, funds will be withheld and the client will lose their priority for future scheduling needs.
